Yesterday I Finished “The Eternal Tide”
I was GREAT & AMAZING!!! I luv it!!!
I dont want to spoil everything so I will write in a way that people who read it understand and others (I hope) dont…
the first 100 pages or so are simple parallel stories but later you see the dots connected and when you are around page 200 you are like OMG OMG THIS IS WHY THAT AND THIS MAKES TOTALLY SENSE and WILL THIS HAPPEN etc.
during the last 60 pages I was like “OMG WHEN WILL THIS BOOK END” NOT because it was terrible but because I wanted to know how the hell does it END?!?!? (well I already had read the very last page)
the only thing that puzzels me is: really 4 ships? Wouldnt 1 be sufficient?
I am sorry because of Eden, but IMO it was always clear it could never be both of them either Janeway or Eden (I will miss you)
and I knew IT, I knew when Chakotay would see Kathryn the first time that he would react like that!!! I AM JUST THAT AWESOME!!!!!
there are not so many JC moments (I counted 7) in there like I though would be but the once in there are pure perfection!!!!!!
“one breath, one moment, one day at a time” will have you on your knees when you read it again; I almost threw my book against the wall and would have started crying and weeping desperately
if I had not know the end (or the last page)
TET is great, not great in the way Full Circle is (FC was good in cracking & tearing you up) but in so many other ways… TET combined great mystery (keeping you guessing), a little headache (remembering the names of the ships), almost to the same way tearing you up (esp near the end!) like FC (but not so extreme) and giving you a damn fine thrill while reading…
AS A JANEWAY & CHAKOTAY FAN YOU HAVE TO READ IT
AS A CHAKOTAY FAN YOU HAVE TO READ IT
AS A JANEWAY FAN YOU HAVE TO READ IT
AS AN EDEN FAN YOU HAVE TO READ IT
since the greater mass of my followers are JC fans here are the pages you are going find the moments:
page 246!; 304; 307; 332!!; 365; Epilogue (381)
Books I recommend reading before this:
Full Circle (highly recommended!)
a little bit of Children of the Storm, but I guess the basic knowledge about Eden will be enough (memory-beta can help you)
if you read String Theory you have even less problem understanding it (and making wild suggestions about the mystery something I like to do & did)…no worries, Ms Beyer (♥) does explain it well
